i feel like the proper solution is a vaccine or biotic for the microbes that are responsible for caries , not some kind of sealant that makes ur teeth black.

Iirc there was some talk of this on science blogs.

IMHO im very skeptical of the dental industry, and lack of cures, just never ending treatments and services. They shoulda found a cure for these things. They know the exact strains and genomes of the symptom causing microbes, yet have no common cure for them. If they did, patients would rarely need dental services, checkups, etc; only if something goes wrong would services be needed.

There's some guy advertising a toothpaste on Instagram right now that supposedly does kill one(?) of these specific microbes, but it's like, OK, so what? You still have to brush your teeth. So maybe there's development in this space, I don't know, but from what I've seen it all sounds like wank anyway.
