Humanity is experimenting with AI and we do not have a single clue about the consequences for humanity and there is no way to stop it either. Im 100% convinced most people will be more stupid due to how humans are lazy by default.

We're in a period with the technological ability to have access to all of human knowledge and instant communication, and yet it certainly seems like collective intelligence has fallen quite dramatically. This is likely due to cultural decay and the unadulterated pursuit of money.

The public school system in the US represents hundreds of billions of dollars in government spending annually and that's *always* a target of marketing and political interests. "The kids need this! The kids need that!" Usually translates into, "Time to buy a bunch of stuff from people who are donating to a senator's campaign" and then it trickles down.

Screens everywhere were arguably less about better education and more about selling billions in kit to a captive audience. AI everywhere in schools follows a similar pattern with similar motives.

The lack of a scientific approach to education is driven by these factors, but also the reality that parents aren't open to the concept of double-blind studies (or any other sort of randomized study) involving their precious offspring. The result of course is that they still take those chances, but now uninformed by the scientific method.

All through grade school we got technology grants for worthless products that only existed to line someones pocket on the governments dime. Keyboard word processors with 20 character lines that we were forced to use twice to learn how it works then forgotten. All sorts of random desktops that wre useful in 1/5 classes that had them. New "smart boards" every 3 years that never got used.

Meanwhile our civics book was literally 45 years olds. Oh but look a lighting grant to replace all our fixtures with the exact same fluorescent fixtures but a slighlty more efficient ballast, only $1,500 a piece! We can't afford an art class any more, but look we placed TVs in the corner ceiling of the room where it would be inconvient to display anything to students!

they're also employing poorly paid staff to what your children, with little evidence or policy to guide them about what impoverishing workers do to the education standards...
