The cost of memory being sky high, and the cost of all tech items going up with it with the result that many people no longer have the same enthusiasm for those AI models like they had two 2 1/2 years ago when OpenAI gave their public presentation with Sam Altman, Ilya Sutskever and Mira Murati on stage at that event, doesn’t mean AI won’t be part of the computer future, but they (AI) was never higher than at that time everything seemed possible. Reality has come to the table.

In 10 years there's going to be an explosion of indoor skate and bike parks, maybe moto tracks, and everybody loves those in their backyard. I can't wait!

I think the easiest explanation is that this buildout is starving the rest of the economy of capital. People can see these massive numbers going into data centers and how the rest of the economy is stagnating. People see the zero-sumness of it.

The direct result of the data centers will be the destruction of more jobs in the future and a harder economy for everyone. The data centers in years past meant more jobs and opportunities.

The consumption of energy and the pollution of water sources. Some people living next to Data Centers have an $ 850-a-month electric bill because the Data Center uses so much power that it increases the rate due to shortages. Also, all of the debt used to fund Data Centers is creating an AI Bubble that might pop soon.
