The U.S. lead over China in AI is all but gone

Seems like we could lead in AI development, and then immediately get trounced by economic factors. But yeah, autonomous cars, solar infrastructure, hell, general education.

The most frustrating one is Xi Jinping saying 房子是用来住的，不是用来炒的, or "Houses are for living, not for speculation."

How fucked is it that the CCP is leading the world in real estate policy.

That's the really crazy part to me as well. Like clearly you can do so much more on the software side, and the whole hyperscaler built out was driven purely by financial shell game decisions rather than technological necessity.
