I have a language[1] I (and Claude) have written which compiles to any of:
- arm64 (MacOS)
- x86_64 (Linux)
- win64 (Windows)
- arm9 (Zynq)
- m68k (Atari ST)
- 6502 (Atari XL)
... Any of the {windows, Linux, Mac} compilers can produce binaries for any target, it's self-hosting, and basically a clone of Objective C but without all those [[[brackets]]].
It was originally written to allow me to write reasonably modern (classes, protocols, ARC memory management, ...) code on the Zynq A9's, and the Atari machines running on that Zynq. It became fairly obvious that the debug cycle would be a lot faster on the native Mac, and once you have a compiler that can target an 8-bit 6502 all the way up to a 64-bit Arm, porting it to Linux and Windows wasn't that big of a deal.
Anyway, cross-compiling to Mac shouldn't be an issue, is what I'm really saying.
