Crossed the line as a science Youtuber. You don't need to be athiest to be a scientist, and he definitely isn't. But you should at least know the line.
Finding out this site is basically just a copy of something that already existed and something they knew existed just further degrades my opinion of him. Especially with it being littered with ads. The ad literally takes up half my screen.
It is so easy for me to separate the art from the artists, study me
I don't agree with intelligent design either simply because it is based on no data or scientific theory.
I also expect Destin to know better than to suggest that.
But still, I wouldn't say he went down the drain.
His contributions far outweigh this.
1. I have had them subtly mess with websites I am working on and I probably wasted multiple hours troubleshooting an issue that wasn't an issue
2. I have had them break a web form when I was trying to purchase something
3. I have purchased some things I like from ads and wouldn't have discovered otherwise
4. I don't frequent websites that overuse them or I can't work around them
5. I'm on a work laptop sometimes and I'm not allowed to use them for corp security reasons
6. I'm not sure I trust the ad blockers themselves, their developers, or their own app security
7. It's another process that can slow down viewing a webpage
I guess.. just like how wearing a seatbelt could end up killing you. Doesn't mean the exact opposite isn't a million times more likely.
If your website is going to be used by people with an adblocker, discovering that an adblocker unintentionally breaks your website is a feature of using one, not a bug.
Who is in space, they seem like nice people, I love the Smarter Every Day crew. (They actually tried to buy my domain years ago.) Pretty lame that they're running those insane Starlink ads but it is what it is.
I've flagged it and recommend others do the same.
Is it really worth the potential of like $1 month if you're rockin the shit out of it, when you can host for free or basically free anywhere these days
Oh I checked whois on one of the IPs and they are using square space. I guess that's why. Gotta recoup something from inexplicably deciding to use squarespace
Neat. Destin has a great talk that he gave to/at NASA about Artemis a few years ago.

And these are the biggest ads I've seen obscuring a webpage in a very long time!
I miss the ad free web.

Is there any other reason ?
I mean, they don't have lights inside the helmet that shines on your own face, right? That would mess with your ability to see.
adding it to my collection next to

bit grusome but would be interesting to compare known time in space against increased cancer and eyesight problems that all the astronauts seem to come back with
I believe longest time in spacewalk was 9 hours but they spent 22 hours outside the capsule during the three days on the moon
cosmic rays are a b*tch
