Reddit Starts Blocking Mobile Website, Pushing Users to App Instead

They are testing things. There was an undismissable banner for a week or so and now it’s gone for me.

It did not get me to download the app. I just stopped clicking reddit links.

This makes me want to download their app even less. And at 400+ MB, it wasn't exactly at the top of my list.

The bigger problem with using app is that you will ALSO have to use its in-app browser

Aaron Swartz (RIP) must be rolling in his grave. F** Reddit. At this point I only visit the old reddit. Once they block it as well, I am never going back.

I'm getting so tired of Reddit's antics. Also removing content seemingly at random without any meaningful explanation, and ignoring any messages about it. Which both makes mods look bad and is a blatant violation of the Digital Services Act.

Continuum app still seems to be working fine, but sadly no new users allowed thanks to Reddit policies.
