Ask HN: Dear LinkedIn, do you want to do business, yes or no?

RU version is available. Content is displayed in original English for accuracy.

I have created my account while spending how many hours to organize my profile, send requests to old colleagues and acquaintances, only to find out the very next day that my account was deactivated for security purposes without me knowing the reason.

I have spend hours trying to find a way to communicate with LinkedIn helpdesk without success, only to receive an email late at night that the reason they deactivated my account is because I edited my Headline (!!!) and they considered this a phising attempt!

I went through the stupid process of providing my government ID and still cannot proceed as the third party service, Persona, still processes my request or so they say, and I'm stuck here without having a way to login so I can upgrade to a premium, or so I wanted to do but not anymore!

This is not a serious company anymore, they have lost the plot and the only thing they need to do is to close it down; they offer absolutely nothing other than spamming you with AI content (slop I believe they name it?), plus they monitor any character you type, making your computer almost unresponsive.

It's just shame that such important company end up the way it has become today.

It was good while it lasted.

UPDATE: After I posted here, within a couple of hours they sent me an email that "we have verified your information and removed the restriction from your account".

Coincidence? A very weird one!

Clarification: The account was locked for 2 days and as soon as I decided to write here about it TODAY, within 2-3 hours of posting here, they decided to sent an email out of the blue that they have reviewed my account, when I have attempted a request for a review via their helpdesk without any success; during the fill up form process it was redirecting me to other pages with plain data explaining to me what should I do with government ID verification process; that's all.

> I went through the stupid process of providing my government ID

I did this once in my life for my first ever Facebook account. I still could not proceed either, which made me even more annoyed. Now they have my ID stored somewhere. Will never, ever do that again.

My Facebook account got suspended and they asked for ID, I provided one and still didn't get my account back.

The whole situation is getting out of control; they have become completely useless using them nowadays. What's the point, really?

That's exactly what frustrated me the most!

That government id thing is a joke. I get endlessly harassed to identify my identity with CLEAR, which I have no problem with in principle, but I have the practical problem that "it just doesn't work" and of course there is no helpdesk.

I can't believe at all that a verified badge would make any difference in whether or not LinkedIn users would trust this person:

Yeah, I feel so stupid for it...I wish they could erase those data of mine permanently from their system. I need to find a way to ask this.
