I expect this will result in increased lobbying for ID verification.

The trick is, as i see it, to externize the cost of externalizing the cost. I think Mark is trying to create a broad coalition in broad daylight to strongarm for pushing the verification layer further and further from his (and his "competitors") margins.

The ID stuff is gross to me. Adults should be responsible for their children. I'm tired of picking up the slack for crap parenting.

Society picks up the slack for a lot of bad stuff that others do, so it's fine, you can't expect all the parents to be great parents, I've met some to whom I'd not give even a tamagochi, but they have kids and those kids need to be taken care of regardless.
