Useful non-siloed memory seems like an awesome idea, though seems close to impossible to add within such a diverse and resource-starved environment such as niche open source platforms.

So I'd settle for a polished set of defaults solving the gazillion of paper cuts in the most fundamental user interactions. Like window movement: in the video with a huge screen and big windows he still has to use that dumb little title bar to move windows around, that's wasteful requirement of user focus. Similarly, the drag itself (requiring a mouse hold) is a hostile (and potentially unhealthy?) action that also can be avoided. Finally, you don't really want default pixel-level flexibility of positioning since it will never be aligned properly.

Or even that title bar - he's correct that center is focused, but that's exactly the reason why the top right indicators shouldn't be centered - you don't focus on Wi-Fi status, you ignore it 99.9% of your time. And even the clock - you glance from time to time, but that's it.

And for the supposed productivity focused audience neither do you need the menus always visible and up there

PS. Pity the Android failure of text editing never got the attention it deserved. Instead we get flying AI cars.

PPS. And the ellipsis, while better in the middle, was still too wasteful, a fade out would have been better, or that with a vertical ellipsis- unlike the horizontal one it can't be confused with a user used symbols (people use periods, some even real ellipsis in file names), along with removing some whitespace waste on the sides (with Human customization, of course, that Apple has always hated)

I watched the first ~10 minutes, thought "wow this guy really knows his stuff", turns out he worked on Apple's System 7 and their Human Interface Guidelines, UX director for Symbian, Google, and a bunch more stuff.
