Show HN: I checked 1M free proxies – 1 in 5 working ones injected scripts

As a real question, why would anyone provide a free proxy other than as a criminal or monetize-the-user-some-other-way scheme? Someone needs to pay the costs of providing that service (even if they are exploited via a cracked 3rd party enterprise).
