But like hydra, cut off one head, and two shall spawn. It should never be illegal to proxy another site, if the information content from that site was originally user generated. Using copyright as a shield is just a legal mechanism, and i don't believe it is just.
Therefore, it is civic duty for all to commit civil disobedience on this.
While I support civil disobedience, it would be more impactful if people just stopped using twitter.
I suspect this may be an unpopular take, but this late in the game I simply think less of people who continue to use twitter while complaining about how bad it has gotten.
Of course it got bad. And it is continually going to get worse. It is never again going to be that place that only lives on in people's rose-colored nostalgia.
But... they can leave it. The world will keep turning, and in fact will improve.

I don't not use twitter because I think it hurts twitter. I don't use twitter because I know using it will hurt me.
Any politician/business/service/whatever that only makes announcements exclusively on twitter simply won't reach me, and I'm fine with that. I can't think of a single instance where missing such an announcement directly on the twitter timeline would have changed my life in a significant way.
