Trending (again) on the day they say they may support pixel 11 after all: https://grapheneos.social/@GrapheneOS/117179231167297908

Why do they even rely on a proprietary black-box security chip?

You know, the one that Google pinky-promised to open-source, but never did.

Just happened that Tensor was the only SoC which supports/supported the features they defined as minimum requirements for GOS, see https://grapheneos.org/faq#future-devices .

The coming GOS-compatible phone from Motorola will use a Snapdragon, iirc.

If Google was laughing I don't think they'll keep laughing as things develop from here. Stone soup is the nature of these ecosystems, if being a graphene selected vendor gives Motorola a leg up (or back?) what will another vendor do when copying a success? Google could try to take their toys and go home by breaking the API but then certain sectors will require an iPhone for legal requirements.
