i'd like to see more folks at the hague over the same. Less judgment isnt forthcoming over child murder and those who align with child killers. There is no justice, no rule of law, while those responsible walk with their head firmly attached to their shoulders.

I wish this weren’t the case but autonomous ai warfare is the future. We should accept that fact. Likely attribution for war crimes will be hard to pin down responsibility for.

Iran and its terrorist proxies (Hamas, Hezbollah, Houthis etc) will get access to autonomous AI one day. It's only a matter of time.

When that day comes, might we regret kneecapping AI in the Free World because of a single accidental tragedy?

Freeport McMoran is supporting the butchering of 500,000 indigenous West Papuans so that they can extract gold, copper, etc from the Grasberg mine. Cargill and Monsanto are helping the ecocidal clearing of millions of hectares of virgin West Papuan rainforest. The flag all of them fly is red, white, and blue.

They gleefully help butcher millions of people so that they can get the resources for a few dimes less. I can assure you that is no "accidental tragedy". You have a word for it already. You call us collateral damage.

It's pathetic that plenty of people think the answer to barbarism is to be as barbaric (but with justification). For example responding to a day of terror with years of genocide. I suppose it's "fine" to do that, but only if you stop pretending you're more civilized than your opponents.

Jon Stewart's response to 9/11 was something along the lines of "I want revenge, I think we should bomb them to pieces.. that's why I shouldn't be the one in charge of our response".

The more public statements come from these tech bosses the more they all seem like they live in this shared psychosis where, literally, the rest of the world is acceptable collateral damage on the path to their inscrutable personal goals.

And the longer they don't have any consequences for their actions, the worse they will get.

I'm starting to think that the further they look into the future for their utopian dreams, the less care they have for the present, and the less care they have for the present the more girls schools will be bombed and companies hacked and other predictable and unpredictable collateral damage.
